Shinn & Mayu:
Not much was seen of Shinn's relationship with his younger sister, Mayu, but she appears to be extremely important to him. From the few memories shown, Shinn loved his sister very much and would do anything to make her happy even though she was annoying at times. Her memory fuels and sustains Shinn's determination and character. This is indicative through Mayu's cell phone Shinn continues to keep with him everywhere he goes. It is all he has left of his past and seems to maintain his connection with his family. Shinn often listens to Mayu's voicemail to take him back.

Shinn & Stellar:
Shinn's relationship with Stellar, Stella in the english dub, truly is a romantic tragedy. The two met with Shinn saving Stellar twice, once from falling, and then from drowning. However, they were separated by sides and destined to be separated forever, even though they fell into a classic love at first sight. Shinn was a feeling of security for Stellar, who valued that security with her life, especially with all that she had gone through. Stellar was life before war for Shinn. She was naturally innocent and happy, however, war-stricken, exactly like Shinn. Shinn wanted to protect her. I think what truly amazed Shinn was how much Stellar reminded him of his younger sister, Mayu. Unfortunately, Shinn couldn't save Stellar from her ultimate fate, and she died before him, reminding him once again how difficult death was.

Shinn & Athrun:
Shinn and Athrun tend to often are at odds with one another even though they respect each other. It doens't always seem as if they understand or even accept the other, but Shinn actually has a great deal of respect for Athrun. Shinn's arrogance is much like a younger brother trying to be exactly like his older brother especially when the younger brother is not quite as good yet. Athrun does take on the older brotherly role as he sympathesizes, criticizes, and backs Shinn up as often as he opposes him. Athrun believes that Shinn is much like Kira and himself but is simply blinded by his pain.

Shinn & Lunamaria:
The relationship between Lunamaria and Shinn started out as a simply friendship between friends. In fact, at first, they were rather annoyed with the other, but that changed rather quickly when Athrun escaped Zaft once again taking along Meyrin, who would've been killed if she had stayed. With Athrun and Meyrin presumed dead after their battle with Shinn, Shinn felt extreme remorse for being responsible for the death of Lunamaria's sister. With their differences aside, they found comfort with each other and suddenly found each other in a romantic relationship. I believe the attraction between them started before the second war without them even knowing it.

Shinn & Meyrin:
The relationship between Shinn and Meyrin seems more like and acquaintanceship than a friendship. They seem to just know each other through Lunamaria and the fact that they are on the same battleship. Despite this, they both respect and care for each other, but it is more of a background friendship.

Shinn & Kira:
Throughout the second war, Shinn and Kira were clear enemies, even though they wanted the same thing in the end. However, they both has very different views of reaching the same goal. Shinn saw the Freedom as an enemy that must be defeated while Kira viewed Shinn as an uncontrollable force that must be stopped. At the very end, they finally formally meet, shocked to see that they had met before. With an open hand, Kira welcomes and encourages Shinn to fight for what they all really want and Shinn accepts.
